Top notch schools from kindergarten to college

Sierra Vista is home to one of the top community colleges in the nation, the headquarters of a major branch campus of University of Arizona and a campus of the largest and oldest aviation school in the country. Add a varied selection of K-12 options that significantly exceed state averages in performance, and Sierra Vista offers everything students need to succeed.

Recognizing the school’s affordability and the excellent outcomes it offers students, the Huffington Post named Cochise College as one of the top 10 community colleges in the country in 2015. Founded at its campus in Douglas, the college is now headquartered in Sierra Vista and is expanding its facilities in the community. After opening a new automotive center in Sierra Vista in 2014, the college benefited from the donation of the old 93,000-square-foot Sierra Vista Health Center building in 2015. This will enable it to expand opportunities in many of its high-demand programs, such as culinary arts and nursing.

However, Cochise College is far from the only choice for higher education, with Wayland Baptist University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and University of Arizona, Sierra Vista, rounding out a pipeline that enables students to pursue a variety of degrees and professional certifications without leaving town. That pipeline starts with a robust offering of K-12 schools, which significantly outperform their peers in the state.

With that said, Sierra Vista is looking for additional opportunities to provide our K-12 and higher learning students with additional opportunities, particularly in the STEM fields. With our interconnectivity, available buildings and terrific quality of life, Sierra Vista offers unlimited opportunities for educational institutions looking to expand.
